The Giants and Dodgers are rivals, did not know that. Those guys sure
don't mind booing someone they don't like, and sure don't mind not
applauding someone when they don't know who they are. It would have
been nice, you know just as a common courtesy, to be polite, but okay,
I guess they don't feel that way.
Good god, FOX is awful. Every comment uttered is so awfully P.C. or
cliche, and they seem so horribly phony. I honestly wonder how they
live with themselves... Dude, what the hell is with your hair?? I had
a moment where I had to wonder how these people live with themselves,
like they must look in the mirror sometimes and want to kill
themselves. I wouldn't take all of the tea in China to be a complete
phony with ridiculous hair embarrassing myself and the game like they
do. Sad. And really irritating. The broadcast is always
unlistenable, and as usual I listened to the game on the radio instead,
which was really good, and ahead of the video broadcast, for a
change... score!
They sure do love Barry Bonds in SF, I was actually kind-of happy for
him somehow, he got to show the rest of the world that for however much
he gets booed on the road (constantly, it seems), he is LOVED at home
and respected on the field. Good for you... jerkoff. No, really.
O=)
I think I'm ready to say that I'm officially over the drama over that
guy. He'll have his record, and he'll have an asterisk (written or
otherwise) attached to it forever in the hearts and minds of everyone
in the game. Seems fair enough to me, I'm moving on now.
Willie Mays! :chills: :misty: Why did Jose Reyes get to catch that
ball? What an incredible honor. Here's what I learned about Willie
Mays All Star Game performances: 24 All Star games played, most hits
and stolen bases ever for any All Star game player, and in 1960 he went
6-8 and hit for the cycle... wowee! That tribute was fantastic, and so
was the interview later with Willie, Derek Jeter and Ken Griffey Jr.,
which brought my favorite quote of the day from The Say Hey Kid. When
asked how he'd like to be remembered, Mays replied, after a pause: "..
the reason I'm pausing is because its very difficutlt for me to try and
pick a moment that I'd want them remembering me by... I don't think
it'd be a baseball moment, but I think it'd be for the way I treated
the game and the way I treated the guys that I played with."
:sniffle: And then to Jeter and Griffey, "... I think you guys are
such role models that when i see you on the field I get chills, and I
don't do that! Nobody phases me in the game of baseball! ..." Talk
about a living legend, what a great example for everyone. :misty:
Cal Ripkin! Ozzie Smith! I never get sick of having the living
legends around. Every game should honor a baseball legend, living or
not, even just for little things like reading the lineups, etc.. Hear
that, MLB?
6-4-3, National League! Wow, Peavey is awesome and found the zone
almost immediately. Oops, I dropped it! Poor Prince Fielder, that's
gotta be a little embarrassing! The Mets in the game really performed
today, I was very proud of them. Reyes hit 3-4 and scored (1-0 NL!),
Beltran hit 1-3 and scored, and was brilliant on the defense, and
Wright was 1-3 and great on the D as well. Yeah, I know Wagner gave up
that homer (D'oh! Haha, get it? Homer!) but that happens to the best
of 'em and he was great otherwise, I thought. Reyes was the star of
the NL team for me, if we'd won (and we SO should have! Grrrr... ) I
thought he'd have gotten the MVP. Oh well, we lost, but man that game
sure was fun! Except for stranding the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th. I mean, I don't want to name any names... ROWAND... but this is all your goddam fault. That's right, I said it.
Damn you Ichiro, damn you straight to... ahhh, I wish I could hate on the guy but wow, he's great. Power to ya, Ichiro. Dammit.

Considering that they cheer the most hated man in baseball (or at the very least, most hated man in baseball that plays on the west coast), it takes a lot of chutzpah for the San Fran fans to boo other players.

Earlier today on MLB Radio one of the guys called SF "Bizzarro World" and was talking about how he should break the record there where everyone will be all happy and bizzzarro together. The other guys all laughed in agreement, so I think we are all together on the fact that SF fans are, er, eccentric (to be polite).
They probably talk smack about us too, ala 'how can they boo their own team??!!' which would definitely deserve some smack-talkin', I think, but still... THAT guy? What a horrible example for their children, etc. I suppose they'd be happy to have anyone on the team that can hit homers, cheater/liar or no. Well then good for them, they deserve each other, I guess. Oh, how Pujols should have had that last at-bat! Grrr...! Trackbacks
