Thanks for a great season, Mets.

I'm proud of my team, we did our best, we didn't win it, and that's that.

As for the 'fans,' I was there and was ashamed of the booing.  I would never, ever, EVER boo my own team, and to boo players like Glavine and Reyes is simply a disgrace.

Love my team, win or lose.

See you in April,

Melissa from Brooklyn

sigh:  Yeah...  ... Well... They did their best, and I sure had lots of fun this season, so I don't want to complain.  I feel worst for the players; Glavine must be hurting like hell, and Reyes... oof, what a way to go out.  We all kept agreeing that the 9th inning rally is always a possibiltiy for the Mets, but as we all know it just didn't happen this time.

But by the time I was walking down the exit ramps I was already smiling and laughing at the fans, some of whom were goofing around and making the best of it.  I looked outside and saw the electric guitar guy rocking out with a crowd of people dancing around him, same for the plays-drums-on-a-bucket guy, and a funny sign (well, I thought it was funny) that was a string of characters, like "!#$%&*" in giant blue letters.

I stuck my last blue, metal Bud Light bottle of the season into my bag, bought a nice little mounted portrait photo of Shea Stadium for my desk at work, took a long look back at the park, and got on the 7 train for the last time til April 2008.

I'm going to at leat 2 Yankee playoff games, and will be wearing my Mets hat proudly.

In other news, the refund from my playoff tickets will just cover the downpayment for my 2008 season ticket, so there's a little upside, I guess.  And I'll be much more available for social events now, which will make my friends and family happy.

Congratulations to the phillies, NL East Champs for 2007, you earned it.

I favor the Cubbies and the Indians in the postseason, but i'm always happiest when it's a National League team from the Eastern Division, so i'll be okay if the Phillies get there too, 'rivalry' or no.

Oh well... :kicks dirt:

:sniffle:

:sigh:

Yay, baseball =)
