Great to see the Mets hit them early, scoring 3 in the first, showing traces of last season and that aggresive, early-game offense. Perez goes 8 1/3 shut out innings (home run?? d'oh!), Heilman closes (hawt.), Gomez shows great offense AND defense in his first game in the majors (wow, he's fast!), Wright steals *3,* Beltran homers, Easley homers and totals 4 rbi, and Reyes now leads the league in triples as well as steals (of course). Not bad for a days work, eh?
I'm not getting all crazy about a 2-1 series with the Brewers , who still haven't shown enough to prove if they're for real or not. They lost the series, but the run totals were even, and they had moments of real greatness. How they fare agains the other NL leaders will provide some more insight there, so we'll all just have to wait and see, I guess.
Fantastic win, can't wait to get to the park Monday for Glavine and the Cubbies! (awww... Cliff Floyd!)
