I'm all in favor of winning, of course, but I don't relish seeing anyone humiliated like THAT. And then to hear the interview with Piniella bashing his pitchers, I must say that it all makes me a wee bit uncomfortable. But just a wee bit, really...
Only 30,000 or so in attendance, and it showed in the many, many empty seats (and all of those beer stands that *weren't* open), but that 30,000 were there from start to finish and wow, did we have fun! D. Wright with 3 hits, a homer and 2 rbi, 2 steals for Reyes plus that single that turned into the winning run, LoDuca with an rbi double... what a game!
It was cold and windy in there and we were totally unprepared for it, but finally we located the Free-Blanket-With-a-Credit-Card-Application guy and everyone was happy. Plus everyone there was SO up for it! By the ninth inning when all of that bases-loaded with walked players, Reyes on third stuff was going on, everyone was going crazy! Extremely fun, so happy it's baseball season again ![]()
I'm prepared for tonight though... Mets blanket, Mets FANdini, Mets ski cap, and (hooray!) Mets seat cushion.
Let's go Mets!
Ps. Are you really sure you want to walk Beltran to get to Delgado? I'm no manager, but I might think twice before trying that again if I were you, Lou.
