Even in spite of; forgetting batteries for my radio walkman and being unable to listen to the game on the FAN; the massive, MASSIVE cues for the beer stands; a couple run-ins with a few particularly belligerent 'fans;' plus the slightly embarrassing loss of 10-1, of course, I still had a blast. Go figure! I blame much of it on the weather (awesome!), the rest of the fans at the game (fun!), and also on just knowing my team is so great that a loss here and there is no worry at all. Yay, team!
Shawn Green goes yard, our only run of the night. :sigh: Love him.
Fun game, not much else to say about it... Nice to see Cliff Floyd (in spite of all that offense he put up!) in the game, and nice to see the ovation for Carlos Gomez right before his failed at-bat.
Good times, I say.
Just one side-note for the yahoos who chant at Shea using the cadence found in chants at the other NY MLB park: Wrong ball park, yahoos, we don't do it like that here so please cut it out. Thanks in advance.
Wro-ong Ball Park, clap clap clap clap clap!
Let's Go Mets!!!
Ps. How awesome is that 2006 montage that they show during the horrible sing-a-long (no offense to Neil Diamond, who is Le Awesome) in the 7th? It gets me every time :misty:
