Well, Oliver Perez, we all have our days, and this was not one of yours... Oh well, we'll all do better next time.  It was looking good there for a while though, especially when you got that hit.

I kept score until the end of the 5th inning, and I guess it's self-explanatory as to why I stopped scoring, eh?  9 runs in an inning can sure take the wind out of your sails.  But I had just gotten home from taking both of my school finals, and after a couple of Jack and Cokes I was about ready for a nap anyway.  Though I did wake up for "and the ballgame is over," as usual.  I'll never understand that phenomenon...

The MLB wrap said it well:

"Their 9-4 loss Monday night was nothing less than a comprehensive kaput that included errors on successive plays, an unfavorable call and nine runs -- all in one inglorious inning. The Mets have played uglier innings, though none readily come to mind."

One loss, nothing to get upset about.

Glavine tonight =*
